Bilkent University Department of Music in the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts invites applications for an open rank faculty position in piano effective September 2019. The position will be filled, depending upon qualifications, at a rank commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will be expected to primarily teach applied piano lessons to piano majors in the college and pre-college divisions.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Teach a studio of solo piano students of all levels (age 6 to Bachelor’s degree)
  2. Supervise student recitals
  3. Teach chamber music courses
  4. Recruit and retain talented piano students
  5. Administrative duties and service on committees as assigned.

Education Requirement: Master’s degree required. Doctorate degree or equivalent experience and training preferred.

Required Qualifications: Must be able to interact with a diverse student and parent population and is dedicated to high quality training of young pianists. Must have substantial experience working with small children. The selected candidate will have had demonstrated success in teaching piano students of pre-collegiate students at all levels in individual and group settings.
